Mr. Donahue’s practice concentrates on the representation of clients in a variety of complex intellectual property matters. Mr. Donahue has extensive experience with patent litigation involving patents covering a broad spectrum of technical fields. In particular, Mr. Donahue has worked on cases involving patents directed to Bluetooth technology, medical devices and apparatuses used in the oil and gas industry.
Mr. Donahue has successfully served as lead counsel in defending a multi-million dollar medical device manufacturer in a patent infringement lawsuit while also assisting in a parallel inter partes reexamination proceeding at the United States Patent and Trademark Office related to the patent-in-suit.
Mr. Donahue has also served as a key attorney in the defense of an electrical contracting company accused of trademark infringement. He has worked on appeal briefs to the Federal Circuit and drafted licensing agreements related to a variety of patents.
Mr. Donahue has prepared and prosecuted numerous patent applications for a large telecommunications client as well as for individual inventors and small companies in a variety of technical fields. He has also successfully handled trademark matters, including trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
