Mr. Price’s practice involves the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide spectrum of intellectual property and commercial matters, with a particular emphasis on patent infringement cases. Specifically, Mr. Price’s patent infringement cases have focused on work in technical fields including Bluetooth communication protocols, digital rights management, data encryption and access control, internet search functionality and algorithms, software systems, mobile phones, image compression and transmittal, and computer hardware and peripherals.
In addition to patent infringement cases, Mr. Price has substantial experience in cases involving trade secrets, trademark, unfair competition, and copyright. He also has extensive experience in commercial litigation, including business torts (including unfair competition, misappropriation, tortious interference with contracts and/or prospective business relationships, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty and deceptive trade practices), commercial landlord-tenant disputes, employment disputes, complex real estate disputes and general breach of contract claims.
Mr. Price has been named a “Super Lawyer” by Texas Super Lawyers and Texas Monthly magazine in the area of intellectual property litigation for 2014. Previously, Mr. Price was named a “Texas Rising Star” by the same publication for the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014. Since co-founding DiNovo Price Ellwanger & Hardy LLP in 2007, Mr. Price has served as lead or supporting counsel in cases which have generated in excess of $100 million in settlements, verdicts, or awards.
