Chester Shiu

Mr. Shiu's practice focuses on patent litigation. He has prosecuted patents in computer science, semiconductor fabrication, and surgery; analyzed licensing agreements; and published an article on the public sector's role in biomedical patenting and innovation.
Mr. Shiu received his J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal. In addition, he served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Society for two years.

Prior to law school, Mr. Shiu attended Stanford University, earning his B.S. in Biomedical Computation from the School of Engineering in 2005 and then completing a two-year master's program in one year to receive his M.S. in Biomedical Informatics from the School of Medicine in 2006. His technical expertise includes computer science with a focus on artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, electronic health records, molecular dynamics, molecular and cellular biology, oncology, and drug delivery engineering. As a scientist, he was deeply interested in the intersection between computer science and biology, particularly in leveraging artificial intelligence algorithms to solve complex biological problems.
